PRINCETON POUNCES ON CORONADO 11-2

CORONADO, Calif. – Annam Iyer scored four goals as Princeton University handled Coronado 11-2 in the girls' 18-and-under bracket of the 2010 National State Challenge sponsored by American Water Polo.

The Tigers built a 5-0 lead by the end of the first period and pushed the advantage out to 7-1 by halftime as Princeton used an early offensive explosion and defense down the stretch to take the victory.

Monica Stiles added a hat-trick in the first half, including two of the Tigers' five goals in the first period, while Sophia Monaghan added a pair of first period goals as well.

Hannah Cross and Sarah Kesack posted the other two goals for the Tigers, while Cassidy Wiley scored in the second and fourth periods to account for Coronado's pair of markers.
