WINDY CITY BLANKS CORONADO 14-0 TO REACH NATIONAL STATE CHALLENGE FIFTH PLACE GAME

CORONADO, Calif. – Gena Wendt scored six goals to lead Illinois-Windy City to a 14-0 victory over Coronado to reach the girls' 18-and-under bracket fifth place game at the 2010 National State Challenge.

Alex Ovalle, Maggie Carey and Cara Borkovec tacked on pairs of goals, while Annie Collins and Nora Sweeney chipped in single goals as Windy City will meet either fellow Illinois program North Beach or Greater San Diego at noon on Sunday, July 25 in the fifth place game.

Coronado will meet the loser of a North Beach-San Diego consolation semifinal game at 10:00 a.m. in the seventh place.
